Reflective Mirrors: Leaving the "Comfort Zone"

Escaping the Zone

Being apart of the Journalism Industry the first thing  become aware of is the that it cans sometimes be an 'arms race' within yourself. Everyday is a new assignment or story; the world never sleeps so as a 'watchdog of information' your main challenge is keeping up with the latest.

It made me wonder as an individual(s) are we keeping up with our abilities, are we even testing their full limits ? Finding what your greatest qualities are important but its also important to develop new skills. To be a great asset as journalist it good to be multi-skilled : write/shoot/edit/produce a full story. A 'jack of all trades' like a stylist that learns how to style hair and do makeup makes them a double threat! *snaps.

But this takes an open and willing attitude to try and the discipline to practice. Attitude is everything, it opens and closes doors for you. Be prepared to fail the first couple of times. No one is amazing the first time that try a new hobby. It can be very frustrating at first, here's where attitude comes in; this where your determination and passion is born. The two traits can only come if you mentally create the environment for it to thrive in the physical world.

Now that we have the attitude, determination, and the passion it manifest itself in the physical world by your constant discipline and practice. Our ultimate goal is not to find a certain plateau of success but is to constantly challenging ourselves and creating the 'next level'.
