No One Cares About Your Preference : Black Men & Interracial Dating

"That's why I don't date black girls." On a recent bar-night outing with my Latina sisters, I was confronted with an interracial issue within the black community; Black men preferably dating outside of their race. The issue is not with whom your dating but how certain black males deliberately praise women of other races (primarily Caucasian/Hispanic in this case) or put down black women.

One of the most infamous reasons of doing so is the generalization of all black women of being "angry" and"loud" or even "aggressive." Some might say Black men are in search of some sort of 'exotic' factor, the alluring forbidden fruit instead of the quotidian of black women they're use too. To them these women are more attentive and submissive to their needs.
Personally I don't oppose interracial dating. I wonder if this issue will ever stop being such a taboo topic. But the issue lies in the manner of stating our preferences to others, without being hurtful. The real truth is that Love can be blind just not to "color."

On the college campus I reside you rarely see any African American female students 'mixing with the masses.' Most black women tend to date other black men typically and our honestly not attracted to men of other 'flavors'; Sometimes these black women believe that men of other races are not equally attracted to them as they are. Though it seems black men have no problem going outside of their race to find a mate.
This brings up a whole other issue of the mast majority of black women being statistically doomed to be single "for all eternity." But I digress. Some women blame the reason of them being single is because of the lack of black men in the dating pool. it makes you think are we decreasing our dating chances by staying within a certain box? What are your thoughts are you 'down with the Swirl?
