"Hair Love Campaign" w/ Tracee Ellis Ross

While flipping through my Flipboard I came across actress Tracee Ellis Ross new hair campaign called 'Hair Love'. Many black women have struggle or still struggle with the image and natural texture of their hair . I personally have struggled with my hair image/texture as a child, constantly being flooded with images of Disney princesses such as Pocahontas that had flowing-long-'tamed' hair as the ideal image of 'beauty'. It is true there were not many role models to help young black girls to love their hair.

For a woman, especially a black woman her hair is everything to her and defines a lot and is a self-reflection and express of one's self. I'm not telling every single girl to hop on the "Natural Hair" train movement, because what works best for one doesn't work for someone else. Also meaning not to look down on others that are not quick to go back to embracing their natural roots. Your hair journey is a personal one; of self discovery that will have many hair-coloring, weaving, and relaxing mistakes and triumphs. But what I love about my hair is that is ... its versatile, long, daring, and exciting. What do you love about your hair? Share the #hairlove
