Poetic Justice: Bringing Back the Braids

Ms. Jackson (Poetic Justice 1993)

Growing up my sister use to always love braiding my  hair in various styles. In the recent natural-hair  movement, braiding your hair is an easy way to maintain your for an on-the-go lifestyle. Box-braids, cornrows, and "dookie braids."  At the time I love having long box-braid down to my back, my friends use to say my braids were so long that they almost 'walked behind me'.

But now that it has become on-trend again, I'm indifferent on if I would ever rock those box-braids again. Now that I've expanded to various hair-extension techniques, preferably sewing-in the hair, I wonder if those braids can give me the same versatile sophisticated look I get with my own hair or extensions. But I will say that I have been tempted by the beautiful hair colors and ethnic-looks I've seen on some of my friends and celebrities.
